Jeremy Bland

Jeremy M. Bland, 43, of Rockford passed away suddenly Sunday, June 13, 2021, in his home.  Jeremy was born July 1, 1977, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Janet (Bland) Balayti and Scott Whitman.  He graduated from Oregon High School, Class of 1996.  He loved football, especially his beloved Chicago Bears.  He had a deep passion for Ford Mustangs.  Jeremy will always be remembered for his gentleness and kindness towards others.  He was a true friend to his friends.  Always ready and willing at a moment’s notice to help his friends or any family members.  Jeremy was kind, considerate and had a huge heart.  He would help the homeless by buying them meals, changing someone’s tire on the side of the road, rescuing dogs, and the list could go on.  If you were lucky enough to have him as your friend, you knew you had a friend for life.  Jeremy is loved and missed by is family and friends.  Survivors include his parents; Janet Balayti and Scott Whitman; girlfriend, Carol Hammer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  You are in heaven now, my son, with your grandparents; aunt, Vickie; and uncle, Norm.  I love you so much son and I miss you, Love mom.
