Jennifer A. “Jenny” Plymale, 83, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born July 11, 1941, in Giffnock, Scotland, the daughter of Gilbert and Elsie (Adams) Kelly. Married Dwain Plymale in Rockford, on October 5, 1963, for 61 years. Jenny worked at the Betty Crocker Experimental Kitchens in England. She met her husband Dwain while he was on assignment for Ingersoll Milling Machine, after being introduced by a mutual friend. She arrived in the United States the summer of 1963 and they were married shortly after. Then, in 1976, she proudly became a U.S. citizen. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, horseback riding, and watching the Chicago Bears. Jenny was an avid bowler, tennis player, and baker. Jenny and Dwain took many trips to England to visit family and friends. They also enjoyed driving their Austin Healy and Ford Model A, crisscrossing the U.S. and Canada. Survivors include her loving husband, Dwain; daughter, Janette (John) Basco of Roscoe, IL; son, Michael Plymale of Madison, WI; sister, Gillian Murton of England; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Michael and Peter; and a brother-in-law, Charlie Murton. The family wishes to thank Serenity Hospice & Home for their loving care and support.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Services will be private. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Serenity Hospice and Home, Alzheimer’s Research, and Prevention Foundation, or a charity of choice.
