Jennifer “Jenny” Denise Bourgault, 53, of Loves Park, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in her home. Born June 2, 1971, in Rockford, IL. She was born to Ronald “Ron” and Judy (Trent) Grider. When Judy married Melvin “Mel” Hess, eight-year-old Jenny was happy to become a member of the Hess family and was overjoyed to gain brothers and sisters. Jennifer attended Rockford University and was employed by IWS for 27 years. She enjoyed ice skating at the Riverview Icehouse for 10 years and took part in many competitions. Jenny enjoyed fishing trips up north with family and traveling to many locations out west with her sister, Lisa. Jennifer loved her cat, Sigmund. Survivors include her sisters, Lisa Hess, and Debbie Simmering; brothers, M. Todd (Pam) Hess, and Brett Hess; aunts, Peg (John) Sanford, Betty Gallentine, and Pam Hess; uncles, Stu (JoAnn) Trent, and Henry (Vicki) Trent; nieces, Lindsey Ellis, Jordan Kasymov, and Lizzy Ptasnik; nephews, Cory Ellis, Nick Krause, Jacob Simmering, Jack Simmering, Clayton Hess, and Tyler Hess; and many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Predeceased by her father, Ron Grider; mother, Judy Hess; and dad, Mel Hess.

Service at 11 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Scottish Argyle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
