Jeffrey “Jeff” P. Wagner, 60, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 18, 2021. Born March 16, 1960, in Rockford, the son of Robert G. and Betty J. (Badura) Wagner. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1979. Also graduated from Rockford Business College / University with a degree in accounting. Married Michelle Brown. Employed by Rock River Water Reclamation District as a senior financial coordinator for more than 20 years, retiring in 2020. Member of City First Church. Active and volunteered at Christian Life Schools. Jeff loved watching his family and friends race at the Rockford Speedway. Avid Chicago Bulls and Bears fan. He enjoyed watching and coaching his daughter Lindsey’s basketball and soccer games. Jeff loved woodworking and restoring antique crates. He was thrilled to become a grandfather to Cameron. Survivors include his wife, Michelle; children, Joshua Graham, Patrick Graham, Amber (Michael) Karpierz and Lindsey Wagner; his little man, Larz the cat; grandson, Cameron Karpierz; mother, Betty Perkins; sisters, Karen (Steve) Quade and Sandy (Wayne) Zovitowski; brothers, Robert (Debbie) Wagner and Brad (Julie) Wagner; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Robert Wagner; and stepfather, Robert Perkins. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL, for their excellent loving care and comfort.
Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Walk through visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, in the funeral home. Social distancing and face coverings required. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jeff’s name to Mayo Clinic Heart Transplant Program or Rockford University.
