Jeannette Gloria (Smith) Haynie, 78, of Loves Park passed into the presence of her Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016, in University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, after a brief illness. She was born February 2, 1938, in Oakland, MN., the daughter of Wubbo Keort and Frederika (Viel) Smith. Jeannette was the 13th of 14 children. She married John Roland Haynie on October 21, 1961, in Freeport and became a lifelong resident of Loves Park. Jeannette was employed at Rockford Newspapers until the birth of her children. She spent the rest of her life as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jeannette was an active member of Windsor Baptist Church. Survivors include son, Shawn (Tina) Haynie of Pekin and their children, Jonathan (Jaime), Joel (Sarah), Noelle, Timothy (Taylor) and Stephen; daughter, Lynn (Ken) Erickson of Loves Park and their children, Benjamin (Robin), Kristen (Nathan) Bodwell, Kyle (Elizabeth), Jared, Nathan (Sierra), Chad (Jessica), Levi and Karis; son, Craig (Jennifer) Haynie of Roscoe and their children, Leorena, Marnette, Matthew, Karl (Streit) and Andrew (Streit); daughter, Susan Faherty of Rockford and her children, Connor, Sarah and Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Patricia) Smith of Davis; several sisters-in-law; and many beloved nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her husband; parents; 8 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, in Windsor Baptist Church, 1115 Windsor Road, Loves Park. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
