Jean Elisabeth Marine, 95, of Machesney Park, IL, left us on Friday, October 27, 2023, in her home. Born April 19, 1928, in Morecambe, England, the daughter of Ellen Johnston. She married Carl E. “Bud” Marine on June 26, 1948, in Rockford, IL. Employed by Park State Bank, currently PNC Bank. Member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed bowling, knitting, and visiting with family. Survivors include her son, Randy (Diane) Marine; grandchildren, Leigh (Rick) Bowling, Steven (Tina) Marine, Jason Marine, and Jordan Marine; great-grandchildren, Austyn Graff, Anthony (Brittany) Marine, Brooklyn (Cason) Faulkner, Lauryn (Jordan) Meyers, Mitchell Marine, Ava, and Gracie; great-great-grandson, Westyn Graff; brother-in-law, Wayne McDaniel; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Ellen and Wilford Mayson; husband, Bud; and son, Robert Marine. Special thanks to family, friends, neighbors, and Northern Illinois Hospice, who helped so much in her time of need. Jean left us loving us with all she was worth.
Graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
