Jean J. Galbreath, 89, of Machesney Park passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, in Javon Bea Hospital. Born August 28, 1932, in Rockford, the daughter of Gustav A. and Marie (Fryer) Schneider. Married Burl R. Galbreath on July 2, 1950, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Employed as a bus driver by the Harlem School District until retirement. Jean loved sewing, knitting, crocheting and her cat, Simba. She selflessly put others before herself. Jean enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune. Survivors include her husband, Burl; daughter, Lydia (Ryan) Trombley; grandchildren, Nathan (Rosanna), Misty, Joshua, Burl Brian, Brandon, and Amber Galbreath; great-grandchild, Samuel Galbreath; siblings, Pat (Ron) Everson and Carney Ferguson. Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Harry and Gus; children, Burl Gean, Eve, Paul, David, and Gregg; and grandchild, Gregg Lee.
Service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
