Jean Freeman

March 23, 1934 — December 25, 2016

Jean P. Freeman, 82, of Machesney Park passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016. Born March 23, 1934, in Rockland, Wisconsin, daughter of Carl and Marion (Boettcher) Bubolz. Jean was a hostess at Cracker Barrel for nine years and volunteered at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Survivors include daughters, Bonnie (Dennis) Butler and Amy Freeman; son, George Dray; grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Butler, Ashley and Brandon Freeman; great-grandchildren, Kayla Butler, Preston Butler and Jayden Freeman; brothers, Doug (Joan) Boettcher and Robert (Judy) Magnuson; sisters, Joyce (Melvin) Jackson and Pearl Gorman; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; brother, Louie; and sister, Betty. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Park Strathmoor, OSF St. Anthony Medical Center 2nd and 4th floor and OSF Hospice for their care and compassion.

Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, assisted the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
