Jean “Jeani” Ann Bauer, 74, of Loves Park, IL, completed her journey on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. This world was blessed with her born on Friday, February 8, 1952, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Frank G. and Shirley Ann (Nimmers) Bauer. She attended St. Bridget School for eight years, Muldoon Catholic Hight School for two years, and graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1970. She met her love, Chuck “Sonny” Myers and they married in 1974. The “love birds” owned the Cumberland Grocery Store in Rockford, IL. Jeani worked days at their store and 3rd shift at Eagles Grocery Store. Jeani was a strong disciplined worker no matter what age she was. She started working at Eagles Grocery store on Auburn Street from 1967 until 1981. Then adventure started running through her veins and she followed her sister, Vicki, to California. She worked for Lucky Grocery store until 2014. She won many Oktoberfest competitions during her service for Lucky. Lucky also gifted Jeani with a lifelong friendship with Jeanette, Kolbe, and Anna. Her heart wanted to change course and return to Machesney Park, IL, to care for her aging mother. Jeani selflessly spent five years being her mother’s chauffeur, cook, nurse, and errand girl. The family is very grateful for her many sacrifices. She had a special love for corvettes. She had four of them. The bright orange one was her favorite. Jeani gave her whole heart to her faith family at St. Bridget Catholic Church. She volunteered for many projects from cleaning the Church to her pride and joy, the Senior Potluck Luncheon. She was the facilitator for the last six years. Jeani’s circle of friends kept getting larger. Survivors include her step kids, Chuck and Valerie Myers; brothers, Frank (Barb) and Jim; and sisters, Vicki (David) Todd and Pam Parnello. Predeceased by her love, Chuck Myers; parents, Shirley and Frank Bauer; brother, Ricky Bauer; and brother- in- law, George Parnello. A special thank you to Randy, Christina, Chuck, Tom, Loretta, Joyce, Leslie, her lunch buddies and all who visited her, called or texted her during her two-month battle with pancreatic cancer. It meant so very much to her to be loved.
