Jannine K. Rasmussen, 82, of Machesney Park passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in Amberwood Care Centre. Born September 22, 1940, in Rochester, MN, daughter of Walter J. and Esther (Engvaldsen) Hanson. Graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester. Formerly employed by Dr. A.L. Lund for 10 years in Rochester. Married John G. Rasmussen on June 20, 1970, in Rochester. Formerly employed by OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for 15 years and by Rockford Health Council for 7 years before retiring. Member of Riverside Community Church where Jannine played in the bell choir for 11 years. She enjoyed rescuing and caring for cats for more than 40 years. Survivors include her daughter, Carrie Lynn (Stephen) Byron; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; brother, Wally Hanson; sisters, Deanna (James) Bryant and Karen (Michael) Janes; sister-in-law, Patricia (Dr. Gerald) Hoffman; niece, Julie Coddington; and many beloved cats.

Memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Noah’s Ark or any animal shelter of choice. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park.
