Janet (Cadwell) Schuldt, 92, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Wesley Willows. Born February 10, 1926, in Rockford, the daughter of Roland and Mildred (Grant) Cadwell. Lifelong Rockford area resident. Graduated from West Rockford High School, Class of 1944. Attended Blackburn College and Northern Illinois University. Married Marvin “Dutch” Schuldt on June 21, 1947, in Rockford. Employed five years at Smith Oil and Refining Company. After being a full-time wife and mother for 15 years, she was employed 23 years as an educational secretary for the Rockford Board of Education, retiring in January 1989. Active member of Riverside Community Church. Survivors include her sons, Richard (partner, Greg Floyd) Schuldt of Springfield, Illinois, and Thomas (Lesley) Schuldt of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Hans “Chris” Schuldt of Jackson, Wyoming, and his son, Tiernan Schuldt, and Heidi (Evan) McClure of Denver, Colorado, and their sons, Elam and Everett; nephews, Bob (Connie) Cadwell of Rockford, Illinois, John Cadwell of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bill Cadwell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous grand-nieces and -nephews, including special grand-niece, Sue Cadwell of Machesney Park, Illinois. Predeceased by her husband in 2004; parents; and brother, Frank Cadwell and his wife, Louise.
Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25, in Riverside Community Church, 6816 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park.
