James “Jim” E. Totenhagen

James “Jim” E. Totenhagen, 80, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Amberwood Care Centre, Rockford, IL. Born June 1, 1942, in Dixon, IL, the son of Edward J. and Ruby (Blair) Totenhagen. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Married Ann Schryver on August 23, 1964, in Milledgeville, IL. Employed as a barber owning and operating Jim’s Hair Design. Active member of A.A. and friend of Bill W. Jim enjoyed golfing and drag racing. He was an avid Chicago White Sox, Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors include his wife, Ann; sons, Mark and Troy (Beth) Totenhagen; grandchildren, Kayla (Leon) and Abbey Totenhagen, and Hailey Cook; great-granddaughter, Lila Rascose; sister, Anne Totenhagen-Johnson. Predeceased by his parents; grandson, Zach Totenhagen; and brother-in-law, Gordon Johnson. The family requests everyone please wear your favorite racing or sports team apparel in memory of Jim.

Memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, visitation from 4 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
