James “Jim” Alan Thomas, 56, of Trenton, OH, went to join his loving father on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was born August 12, 1962, in Naperville, IL, the beloved son of James Darrell and Shirley (Usery) Case, along with Don R. Case, his stepfather. He attended school in the Harlem District and Hononegah High and served in the U.S. Army for 14 years. Jim was employed at Valicor Waste Management in Monroe, OH, as a sales and service manager. Jim was an avid sports fan. He loved the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed listening to country music and "picking" the guitar. He was his son's biggest baseball fan, always there with a bottle of water and a towel for him. Jim made it a point to stay in touch with all of his family members, always ending the call with an "I love you." Jim is survived by his mother, Shirley (Usery) Case and his grandmother, Eula Bennett, both of South Beloit, IL; his children, Jessica (Adam) James of Clinton, WI, Rebeca Thomas of Clinton, WI, and Cody Thomas of Liberty Township, OH; grandchildren, Kortlynn James, Finnley James and Weston James, all of Clinton, WI; siblings, Colleen (Mark) Lengrand of South Beloit, IL, Greg (Vicky) Thomas of Byhalia MS; half-sister, Billy Jean Thomas of Colorado; several step-siblings, Ellen Granneman, Doug (Donna) Case and Barbara (Ken) Fry, all of Paris, TN, Jerry Lynn Dorman of Long Beach, CA, and Christine (Steve) Bishop of Port Charlotte, FL; as well as his loving significant other, Tammy Hess and family of Trenton, OH; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Darrell Thomas; stepfather, Don R. Case; aunt, Glenda Norder; and nephew, Nicholas Jackson.
Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
