James Stobart
March 22, 1942 — March 11, 2025
James “Jim” P. Stobart, 82, of Machesney Park, IL, was welcomed into his eternal home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Born March 22, 1942, in Rockford, IL, the son of William L. and Josephine (Carey) Stobart. He graduated from East High School, Class of 1960. Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Gail Ann Duckert on May 20, 1967, in Rockford. Formerly employed by Forest City Millwork and retired from Stock Lumber in 2004. Member of the Roscoe VFW. Jim loved vacations with his family. He enjoyed watching old western movies. An avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include his wife, Gail; son, Patrick Stobart; daughter, Carrie (Jeff) McKinney; grandchildren, Erick (Jessica) Stobart, Landon McKinney, and Mya McKinney; great-granddaughter, Audrina; brother, Tom (Mary) Stobart; many nieces and nephews; loving pet, his black lab, Stimey. Predeceased by his parents; son, Matthew “Matt” Stobart; and sisters, Rae Ann Hamlin and Barbara Klein. Special thanks to Dr. Bharati Roy, Nurse Francine, and Dr. Waqas Ahmad.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main Street Roscoe, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Inurnment at a later date in Scottish Argyle Cemetery, Caledonia, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Roscoe United Methodist Church or Harlem Roscoe Fire Department.
