James "J.P." Pena

James “J.P.” C. Pena, 64, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in his home. Born July 22, 1953, in Rockford, the son of Joseph and Elaine (McKinney) Pena.  Married Moana Dalen on November 4, 1972, in Machesney Park.  Employed by Plumbers Pipefitters Local 23 for many years.  He was a loving husband, dad, papa and brother.  James loved watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.  Avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.  He enjoyed golfing.  Survivors include his wife, Moana; children, Heather (Shannon) Burbach and Gabriel (Jennifer) Pena; grandchildren, Alec Pena, Cole Pena, Logan Burbach and Lucas Burbach; father, Joseph Pena; sisters, Paulette Pena and Deena Pena; brother, Gilbert (Laura) Pena; brothers-in-law, Butch (Mickey) Dalen, Laird Dalen and Tracy Dalen; sisters-in-law, Romel (George) Neblock and Wendy (Andy) Kawalec; godson, Jake LaRosa; many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his mother.

Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 6, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. until service time.
