Jacquelyn “Jackie” Lou Gough, 84, of Loves Park passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, in her home after a short illness. Born August 16, 1936, in Rockford, the daughter of Leslie B. and Hazel "Peg" R. (Dorn) Fair. Jackie graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1954, where she was involved in many organizations; member of National Honor Society; cheerleader; and Homecoming Queen. She enjoyed playing softball and tap dancing. Jackie suffered the sudden and tragic losses of her high school sweetheart and husband, Jake Perrigo, in 1955; and her son, Jay David Gough, in 2002. Her Christian faith saw her through the difficult times in her life. She was a longtime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and regularly attended Grace Lutheran Church in recent years. She married David “Skip” Gough in 1957 and they enjoyed many years raising their family while living on the river; he predeceased her in 2018. She retired from the Loves Park City Clerk’s Office. Jackie enjoyed regular lunch dates with her cousins and with her high school friends, and her girls’ trips to Door County, Lake Geneva and Sheboygan with her daughters and granddaughters. The most important thing in her life was her family, and she loved to attend the athletic events, concerts, recitals and family parties for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed (and fretted) watching her sons' and grandsons' racing events. She was the center of our large family and she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters, Debi (Dave) Sanchez of Caledonia, Krista (Jeff) McCauley of Loves Park, and Jana (Ed) Guske of Loves Park; daughter-in-law, Katrina Gough of Roscoe; son, David (Ammie) Gough of Loves Park; grandchildren, Dustin (Tracy) Colombi, Devin Sanchez, Ryan McCauley, Brandon (Andrea) McCauley, Brittany (Jake) Schmidt, Jacob Cary, Derrick (Megan Sengchannavong) Gough, Jade (Taylor Watkins) Gough, Nathan Guske and Emily (Nick Talan) Guske; great-grandchildren, Rylie, Chase, Carson, Ryder, Harrison, Charlotte, Emory, Ella and Jace. Also predeceased by her parents; sister, Jeannine Andrews; and brother, David Fair. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice.
