Jackie "Jack" D. Mitchell, 76, of Loves Park was called home Sunday, November 29, 2020, in Javon Bea Hospital. Born February 7, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Laverne D. and Barbara L. (Beckett) Mitchell. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1962. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a "car guy" and trained many other "car guys" in the business. Owned and operated Jack Mitchell Motors for more than 30 years. Member of the Lombardi Club. Avid Chicago Bear and Cubs fan. Jack enjoyed going to casinos and traveling. He knew everybody and always had a story to tell. Jack loved sharing his casino perks with his family and friends, many concerts games, great food and limo rides! He was proud to say that he placed in the seniors World Series of poker and went to a Chicago Cubs World Series game. Survivors include his son, Chad (Toby) Mitchell; grandchildren, Keegan, Kyler, Kendra, and Kaleb; loving companion, Therese Dobson: and her children, Jennifer (Don) Verdina, and Paula Schwartz; and her grandchildren, Austin Roeder, Ella Crown, and Lydia Schwartz; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Lori Mitchell. Predeceased by his parents; brother, Terry Mitchell; and sister, Sally (Chuck) McDonald.
