Jack W. Anderson, 84, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully Friday, October 28, 2016. Born July 28, 1932, in Rockford, the son of George W. and Lilly (Bunker) Anderson. Veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army. Married Judy J. Turner on September 9, 1972, in Rockton. Attended Pine Grove Free Methodist Church. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Jodi (Swan) Benson of Louisiana and Jan (Matthew) Freed of Oregon, IL; son, John (Kim) Huene of North Carolina; grandchildren, Amber (Tom) Bennett, Jaclyn (fiancé, Jake Sklavanitis) Freed, Jessica (Michael) Knight, Christopher (Kellie Mathes) Pumilia, Taylor (Devin Todd) Freed and Jeff Thompson; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Mechelle Greer. Predeceased by his daughter, Jill Rae Anderson in infancy. The family wishes to thank the staff at Alpine Fireside Health Center.
Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
