Irvin H. Rohl, 87, of Rockford passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2016, in the loving arms of his family. Born November 1, 1928, in Perry County, IN, the son of Estel and Jessie Mae (Wiseman) Rohl. Veteran of Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. Married Marlene Lindsay on February 27, 1954, in Freeport. Employed by Rockford Blacktop for 42 years, retiring in 1999. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Rockford Garden Club, Roscoe American Legion and Clifford E. Johnson Post 9759. Survivors include his wife, Marlene; son, Jeff (Julie) Rohl; daughters, Lynda Hecox and Sue Rohl; grandchildren, Jonathan (Krista) Rohl, Stephen Rohl, Nathan (Jessica) Rohl, Julian (Jennifer) Hecox, Stephanie (fiancé, James Beasley) Blaszczyk and Ashley Blaszczyk; great-grandchildren, Grayden, Emmerson, Emma, Taevin, Lucas, Devin and Ava; brother, William (Nancy) Rohl; sister, Alice (Hubert) Kleaving; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; son, David Rohl; and brothers, Novey and Charles Rohl.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane. A memorial will be established.
