Henrietta Shields

Henrietta S. Shields, 87, of Rockford was called home Monday, November 11, 2019. Born November 12, 1931, in Oregon, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Florence Balcom. Married Douglas K. Shields on December 29, 1951, in Ashton, Illinois. Member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the saxophone, crocheting and doing word puzzles. Survivors include her son, Larry (Cyndi) Shields of Rockford; daughter, Sherry (Peter) Franklin of Rockford; grandchildren, Warren Franklin, Brian Franklin, Brooke Franklin, Brittany Franklin, Matthew (Melinda) Shields, Andrew (Roxanne) Shields and Kaitlyn (Matthew) Jones; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene (Howard) Nelson of Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and husband.

Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, in Concordia Lutheran Church, 7424 North 2nd Street, Machesney Park. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
