Helen M. Sell-King, 91, of Loves Park, IL, was called home Monday, January 8, 2024. Born September 9, 1932, in Rockford, the daughter of Jean P. and May F. (Meinheit) Artz. She married Dent Sell on September 23, 1950, in Chicago, IL. She then married William J. King on November 9, 1991, in Machesney Park, IL. Helen was employed by Woodward Governor for many years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Riverside Community Church. Helen enjoyed reading, baking, and cooking. Survivors include her sons, Dennis Sell and Donald (Donna) Sell; grandchildren, Brian (Callie) Sullivan, Shawn (Debra) McGuire, Darren Sell, and Derrick Sell; great-grandchildren, Cody Sullivan, Gavin Sullivan, Abraham McGuire, and Darren Sell, Jr.; brother, Gerald (Sharon) Artz; numerous nieces and nephews; grand-dogs, Ginger, and Abby. Predeceased by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Carol Stevens; 6 brothers; 3 sisters. The family wishes to thank Donna Carlson for her loving care and companionship over the past 10 years.
Service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
