Helen J. Hammer, 81, of Loves Park passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, in Alden Debes Rehab & Healthcare Center. Born May 20, 1934, in Glenwood, MN., the daughter of Walter and Mary (Popelka) Svec. Married Edgar Hammer on September 10, 1956. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Women’s Auxiliary, SM&SF Club and Eagles Club. Survivors include husband, Edgar; son, Steven Hammer; daughter, Sandy (Al) Sharp; grandchildren, Joseph (Jamie) Sharp, Melissa (Tony) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Austin, Emalyn, Josey, Chloe, Logan, Aria and Garrett; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bridget School. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park.
