Helen A. Dunn, 91, of Machesney Park, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, in her home. Born January 16, 1932, in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Paul and Martha (Ruef) Ruf. She married Kenneth J. Dunn on June 26, 1952, in Darlington, WI. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. She and Kenneth taught ballroom dancing at Rock Valley College for several years. They were members of three dance clubs: Top of the Town, Cotillion, and Estenda. Helen and Ken enjoyed many camping trips together. Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca (Myron) Oakley and Renee (Alan) Pirrello; son, Kirk (Natalie) Dunn; grandchildren, Adam (Madi), Mariah (Isaac), Jessica, Eric, Chase, Joey, and Abigail; four great-grandsons; brothers, Donald (Janis) Ruf and Bernie (Nancy) Ruf; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and husband. A special thank you to all who helped with Helen’s care: OSF Hospice, daughter-in-law, Natalie Dunn, and granddaughter, Abigail Kielczewski.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
