Harlow Rosborough

Harlow B. Rosborough, 96, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his daughters’ home. Born September 3, 1927, in Rockford, IL, the son of Kenneth and Beryl (Spearing) Rosborough. Attended Rockford Schools. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the first calvary division in the Pacific Theater of Operations and was a demolition specialist with the 12th and 5th regiment of the first calvary. He married Marlene C. Glawe on January 9, 1948, in Rockford. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Member of North Park Evangelical Covenant Church, for over 70 years, where he served on several committees. Volunteered at the North Park Fire Department. Member of Loves Park VFW, Post 9759, and a life member of Disabled Veterans, Local 29. Harlow served on the board of governors of the 12th calvary division association. He enjoyed family trips with their camper traveling to Door County, WI, throughout the U.S., Canada, and many cruise, train, and bus trips. Survivors include his daughter, Candy (Steve) Wahlstrom; grandchildren, Jared (Lori) Bankson, and Janelle (Robert) Durham; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Mackey, and Nikalas Durham. Predeceased by his parents; wife; daughter, Crystal Bankson; son-in-law, Bruce Bankson; and loving pets, Sport, and Mitty. Special thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice.
Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, in North Park Evangelical Covenant Church, 545 Superior Ave., Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
