Gwendolyn “Gwen” A. Ang, 91, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Born June 28, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Isaac) Hilton. Attended Winnebago Schools. Married Sterling B. Ang. Employed by National Lock in Rockford for 33 years and by Camcar for 15 years. She loved bowling, golfing, dancing and traveling. Her first love was family and friends. Survivors include daughter, Cary (James Smith) Lilja of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Robin Lilja, Jana (John) Short, Bjorn (Molly) Lilja and Krista (Ed) Gellis; great-grandchildren, Adam, Kyra, Etienne, Madeleine, Kolbjorn, Greta, Keziah, Adah, Ben, Israel, Abby, Ruth, Nathan and Esther. Predeceased by her husband; infant son, Douglas; son, Gregory; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. The family wishes to thank Visiting Nurses and Rockford Memorial Hospital wound care and doctors, and a special thanks to Joella Luzinger.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. As per her wishes, cremation rites accorded.
