Gordon Brady

Gordon Dwight Brady, 70, of Loves Park passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in Cherryvale Place, Rockford.  Born August 2, 1951, in Rockford, the son of Donald W. and Katherine M. (Myers) Brady.  At the age of 17, Dwight joined the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman.  He spent four years in service including two tours during the Vietnam War.  As a proud veteran, he departed the service as a corporal who received the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.  Employed by Mattison Machine Works and Aqua-Aerobics Systems, Inc.  Later, he became self-employed until retirement.  Dwight enjoyed repairing and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles, especially to Sturgis.  Survivors include his daughter, Nichole (Tobias) Woodruff; son, Dwight David Brady; grandchildren, Isabel, Olivia, and Ivana; great-granddaughter, Indie; sisters, Kristie Dequintanaroo, and April Harrolle; brother, Duane Brady; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents; daughter, Reva Chestine Charland; brothers, William Dennis and Donald Eugene; and sister, Kim Gassett.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.  Cremation rites accorded.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
