Gloria M. Derr, 97, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in her home. Born December 31, 1925, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Bennett) Nelson. Married Gail Derr on March 30, 1944, in Casper, WY. Employed by Automotive Radiator Repair Service for 21 years, retiring in 1989. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was on the alter guild. Survivors include her sons, Gail B. Derr and Stephen E. (Cathy) Derr; grandchildren, Lynette (Todd) Collins, and Erik Derr; great-grandchildren, Emily (Tyler) Zielinski, Taylor Derr, Sara Collins, and Riley Collins; and former grandchild-in-law, Todd Collins; longtime family friends, Gary (Donna) Larson. Predeceased by her parents; husband; and brother, Roger C. Nelson.

Graveside inurnment services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023, in Arlington Memorial Park, 6202 Charles Street, Rockford, IL. A memorial celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, in Arlington Memorial Park, Rockford, IL, with a gathering of family and friends following at the home of Alan and Nancy Burt.
