Gloria L. Carley, 96, of Rockford, IL, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, in her son Timothy’s home. Born December 9, 1925, in Rockford, the daughter of Charles A. and Amelia (Brassea) Marelli. Married Willis Carley on April 26, 1947, in Rockford. Retired from Bausch and Lomb after 25 years. Member of Eagles Club #392. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and playing cards. Gloria also enjoyed her evening glass of wine. Survivors include her children, Michael (Jorjene) Carley, Patricia (Allen) Burton, Timothy (Cheryl) Carley, Cathy (Dave) Hood, and James (Lisa) Carley; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her shih tzu, Charlie. Predeceased by her husband, Willis; sister, Shirley Ayersman; and her shih tzu, Skipper. Special thanks to her niece, Sherry Fink-Vetter, for her loving care.
Memorial service at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Inurnment in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family.
