Glenn C. Kibby, Jr., 71, of Rockford passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, in his home. Born December 11, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Glenn C. and Violet A. (Spratt) Kibby, Sr. In 1950, the family moved to Belvidere. Glenn survived the 1967 Belvidere tornado that hit the Belvidere High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force. While in the service, he did a tour in Lakenheath, England, from 1968 to 1972. He was employed by Valspar, in Rockford, for many years as the plant chemist. Glenn loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, and road trips across this beautiful country. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Wild Cats, Belvidere Bucs, and Chicago White Soxs. Glenn enjoyed Christmas, even though he had no children of his own, he loved going above and beyond spoiling his nieces and nephews children with gifts. He had a passion for the Rockford Rescue Mission and RAMP. Survivors include his sisters, Patti A. Scott of Seattle, WA, and Sue (Ronald) Flanders of Rockford; nephew, Ronald (Lisa) Flanders, Jr., of South Beloit; nieces, Kibbie Becker of Seattle, WA, Rhonda (Joe) Trapani and Ginger (Shaun) Neubauer, both of Rockford; great-nieces, Ana-Leise Becker, Audrey Neubauer, Leah Flanders, and Ellie Trapani; great-nephews, Brandon Becker, Aidan Neubauer, and Ashton Neubauer. Predeceased by his parents; and longtime friend and former wife, Patsy Cordes.
