It is with great sadness that the family of Geraldine “Jerry” R. Schindler announces her passing, after a brief illness, on February 15, 2019, at the age of 93. Jerry was born to William and Sarah Chambers on July 18, 1925, in Cashton, WI. She married Joseph “Joe” Schindler on June 6, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Sparta, WI. They were married for 58 years. Her husband preceded her in death on February 18, 2003. Jerry was a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL. Jerry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She enjoyed the many camping trips with her family, fishing, baking cookies, making mac ‘n cheese with Carson, Griffin and Cohen, playing cards, yard work with Sarah, watching and feeding birds, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ann (Jerry) Wiest, Nancy (Glenn) Hammack, Patricia (Dan) Dreier and Michael (Lisa) Schindler; grandchildren, Jeff (Sway) Wiest, Brian (deceased) (Janine) Wiest, Shane (Alasa) Wiest, David (Kim) Hammack, Vicki (Brian) Lewis, Steven Hammack (deceased), Sarah Hammack, Brandon (Tana) Dreier, Jenna (Jason) Berger, Kaylee (Jarrod) Peterson, Paige and Madison Schindler; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Saxton Wiest, Amber and Joseph Hammack, Allison, Travis and Austin Lewis, Alexis and Jordan Hammack, Tyler and Drake Baldwin, Griffin and Cohen Dreier, Carson Berger and Baby Peterson.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 21, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
