Franklin “D.D.” D. Ratcliffe, 90, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. Born January 13, 1934, in Peach Orchard, AR, the son of Jeff and Alice (Flippen) Ratcliffe. He married Denise Kidd on August 28, 2004, in Rockton, IL. Formerly employed by Amerock, Hydroline, and most recently by Linact, retiring in 1991. Member of Windsor Baptist Church. He loved electronics. Avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls fan, and college basketball enthusiast. Survivors include his wife, Denise; son, Farrell (Lori) Ratcliffe; daughter, Diana Ratcliffe, all of Loves Park; stepsons, Jason Walmer and Russell Walmer, Jr., both of South Beloit; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Landon, Rena Adams, and Caleb (Racheal) Olson; several great-grandchildren; nephews, David, Brian, Tony, and Tommy; loving cats, Missy and Cali. Predeceased by his parents; brother, T.L. Ratcliffe; and sister, Martha Johnson.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Cremation rites accorded.
