Francisco Fernandez, 56, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020, in his home. Born Tuesday, December 17, 1963, in Cadiz-Jerrez de la Frontera, Spain, the son of Ricardo and Betty Jo (Carter) Fernandez. Francisco was a gifted linguist and enjoyed studying languages and philosophy. He also loved reading, especially romance novels. Francisco was devoted to his parents but would gladly help anyone in need. Survivors include his sisters, Niccole Ranz, Michelle Rojo and Jennifer Fernandez; brother, Roger Fernandez; nieces and nephews, Alex, Emma, Anna, Dawson, Grace, Lilah, Mason and Katie. Predeceased by his mother and father.

Services will be private. A memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
