Frances M. Hughes

Frances M. Hughes, 93, of Rockford, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford, IL. She was born Thursday, September 8, 1932, in Rogersville, TN, the daughter of Earl and Lula (Williams) Bradley. Frances married James E. Hughes on August 6, 1949, in Rogersville, TN. She was employed by Amerock for many years before retiring. She was a member of North Park Church of Christ. She loved being outside looking at the birds and flowers, fishing at Rock Cut, and don't interrupt her on Monday or Friday evening because WWF Wrestling was on TV. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth (Steve) Bergstrom; grandchildren, Melissa (Walt) Keyser, Christine (Tim) Murphy, and Eric (Jenny) Bergstrom; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Linda Young; two brothers; and four sisters. Special thanks to Mercy Health Hospice and River Bluff Dove Unit staff for making the journey a little easier.

Service at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, IL. Memorials to Helping Hands Food Pantry at North Park Church of Christ.
