Floyd Elias Self, 100, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born October 9, 1924, in Dix, IL, the son of Joseph and Pearl Self. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He married T. Joy Barnes on June 8, 1947, in Patoka, IL. Retired from Reed-Chatwood, formerly Barber-Colman. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and you would always find him working in the yard anytime his health allowed. He loved visiting with family and spending time with his granddaughter and great-granddaughters watching their dance recitals and soccer games. Survivors include daughter, Carolyn (Dave) Seaberg; granddaughter, Jennifer (Derek) Hunter; great-granddaughters, Hailey, Kaci, and Rylee Hunter. Predeceased by his parents; wife; son, Michael Self; two brothers; and three sisters.

Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
