Eric Peterson

Eric R. Peterson, 50, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Born August 21, 1970, in Rockford, the son of Darrel R. and Rosalie “Carrol” (Ruggles) Peterson, Sr. Graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1988. Married Darla Brinker on May 18, 2002, in Loves Park. Member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. Eric loved snowmobiling, fishing, and camping. Avid Minnesota Viking, Chicago Cub, and Chicago Blackhawk fan. Survivors include his wife, Darla Peterson; son, Eric T. Peterson; father, Darrel R. Peterson, Sr., of Pecatonica; brothers, Darrel R. Peterson, Jr., of Rockford and Terry (Angie Cogswell) Peterson of Glendale, Ariz.; sister, Tina (Daniel) Edler of Rockford; mother-in-law, Gloria Brinker of Loves Park; several nieces and nephews; special dog, Wrigley. Predeceased by his mother, Rosalie “Carrol” Peterson; brother, Alan Peterson, Sr.; father-in-law, Richard Brinker; and nephew, Alan “A.J.” Peterson, Jr. The family wishes to thank the Dr.’s and nurses at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for their loving care.

Graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2020, in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street. Walk through visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with social distancing and face coverings required. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
