Emily Louise Roell, 97, of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, in Beaver Dam. Born August 2, 1919, in Crawfordsville, IN, the daughter of Robert Coleman and Katie Belle (Burgess) Jones. She graduated from Morton High School in Richmond, IN, Class of 1936. Emily married Ted G. Roell, Jr., on September 30, 1938. Emily and Ted relocated to Loves Park in 1951, where they owned and operated several businesses together with longtime partner, Bud Florin, including House of Bottles and Donutland. Emily loved to travel and spend time on the water, and especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Ted (Judy) Roell of Tryon, NC, and Bob (Sandy) Roell of Beaver Dam, WI; daughters, Becky (Steve) Nelson, of Henderson, NV, and Theresa (Jim) Parrish of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Lisa Roell (Anthony) Turano of Vero Beach, FL, Nate Roell of Spring Lake, NC, Robin (Gary) Heckman and Ted (Karolyn) Roell, both of Rockford, Kate Nelson of Boston, MA, Gina Pulciani of Fayetteville, AR, Aaron (Christina) Parrish of Las Vegas, NV, Jesse Parrish and Ryan (Dana) Parrish, both of Rockford, and Brendon (Kelly) Parrish of Downers Grove; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Ted; parents; brothers, Robert Jones and Delbert Jones; and sister, Hazel (Jones) Fullenwider. The family extends thanks to the nurses and staff at Hillside Manor of Beaver Dam for their kind and diligent care.
Service at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Private burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice in Emily’s name would be greatly appreciated.
