Ellen Whittaker

Ellen Gaynell Whittaker, 58, of Loves Park passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in her home. Born July 20, 1958, in Rockford, the daughter of Don L. and Shirley (Boken) Gugliuzza.  Married John W. Whittaker on March 28, 1980, in Rockford.  Employed by Schnuck’s, formerly Logli’s for many years.  Ellen enjoyed researching her family genealogy, reading, cooking, making small talk with strangers and her favorite flower was a dandelion.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, family game night, playing tetris, dominos and collecting Minions.  Survivors include husband, John; son, Grant (Jen) Whittaker; daughter, Jordan Whittaker; grandchildren, Nik and Norah Whittaker; father, Don L. Gugliuzza; brothers, Chris, Kevin (Mary) and Mark (Jen) Gugliuzza.  Predeceased by her mother, Shirley.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
