Eleanor “Ellie” Irene Pecina, 69, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 15, 1954, in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of Billie J. and Catherine E. (Allen) Owens. Volunteered for Good as Gold. Ellie was a proud mother, loved animals, concerts and golden retrievers. Survivors include her daughter, LeeAnn (Joseph) Kucej of Milwaukee, WI; fiancée, Malcolm Aylward of Loves Park, IL; brother, John (Felicia) Owens of Sycamore, IL; cousins, Marsha Owens, and Teresa (Jerry) Tishler, both of Springfield, IL; half-brother, Patrick Cain; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents.
Private family services will be held. Cremation rites accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Sycamore. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to As Good as Gold or American Cancer Society.
