Edward Kopfman

Edward H. Kopfman, 87, of Belvidere, formerly of Chicago passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Born February 27, 1931, in Blue Island, IL, the son of Emil and Bertha (Flassig) Kopfman. Married Ann Bortkun. Edward and Ann were married for almost 61 years. They did everything together. They were like peas and carrots, peanut butter and jelly, Romeo and Juliet. We thought that death had broken that bond, but they had a plan. Death re-mended that bond. Ed would say several times a day since Ann passed, “I want to be with her.” Our great and loving God saw this and reunited these two love birds again to be with each other forever. They were in love and love conquers all. We will miss you both. Survivors include his sons, Steven R. (Sandra) Kopfman and Kenneth M. (Judy) Kopfman; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew, Drew and Julia Kopfman, Austin and Josh Karpinski; brother, Charles (Liz) Bortkun. Predeceased by his parents; wife; son, Edward D. Kopfman; and brother, Emil Kopfman.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday August 31, 2018, in St. James Catholic Church, 402 Church Street, Belvidere, IL. Visitation from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, August 31, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.  Graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, in Fairmount-Willows Hill Memorial Park, 9100 Archer Ave., Willow Springs, IL.  Cemetery is located 2 miles South of I-294 on Archer Ave.
