Eduardo “Eddie” Z. Rodriguez, Sr., 75, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 9, 2016, surrounded by family. Born January 6, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Gregorio and Ida (Zapata) Rodriguez. Veteran of U.S. Army. Married Julia “Marty” Rodriguez on October 18, 1963, in Washington, D.C. Employed by Applied Products, previously by Blackhawk Gasket and Kysor of Byron, retiring in 2008. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Marty; two sons, Michael and Eduardo Rodriguez, Jr.; daughter, Monica Rodriguez; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, Michael, Jr., Andrew, Zachary, Jesse and Gabriella; 11 great-grandchildren, Alejandra, Izzabella, Xavier, Michael III, Sophia, Selena, Ezmerelda, Emilio, Mila, Yazmin and Nico; two brothers, Dave Villarreal and Greg (Carol) Rodriguez; six sisters, Virginia (Ralph) Redin, Viola (Bill) Hopkins, Irene Equila, Victoria (Romeo) Canals, Margaret DelBusque and Diana (Eddie) Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and a brother, Joseph Villareal.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
