Edith “Edie” A. Pearson, 85, of Machesney Park passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, in her home, surrounded by family. Born November 28, 1931, in New Britain, CT, the daughter of Olaf H. and Lillian D. (Peterson) Strom. Married Robert D. Pearson on October 15, 1955, in Loves Park. Edith was the neighborhood babysitter for 4 decades. She was the official Little League Baseball scorekeeper. Edith was an avid reader and enjoyed planting hostas. Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Terry) Wincapaw; sons, Larry, Randy (Shelly), Jeffery and Greg Pearson; grandchildren, Chris (Stacey), T.J., Tara (Dustin), Alex (Kaylee), Jordan, Brooke and Brandyn; many great-grandchildren, including her special helper, Ashlin; brothers, Warren and Kenneth Strom; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Hanne. Predeceased by her husband; parents; grandson, Shane Wincapaw; brother, Bobby Strom; and sister, Bonnie Robbins. Special thanks to her granddaughter, Tara and her fiancé, Dustin White, for their loving care during her final days and to OSF Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
