Edgar Hammer

Edgar G. Hammer, 87, of Loves Park passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in his home. Born November 3, 1931, in Alexandria, MN, the son of Joseph and Matilda (Loeffler) Hammer. Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Airforce in North Africa. Married Helen J. Svec on September 10, 1956. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Former member of SM&SF, Eagles Club and Harvard Moose. Survivors include his son, Steven Hammer; daughter, Sandy (Al) Sharp; grandson, Joseph Sharp; granddaughter, Melissa (Tony) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Austin Gillis, Emalyn Sharp, Josey Sharp, Chloe Sharp, Logan Johnson, Aria Johnson and Garrett Johnson; sisters, Geri Tvrdik, Mary (Ed) Martin and Theresa Svec; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife; and 3 brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., of Loves Park.
