Dorothy J. “Dot” Timmerman, 100, of Machesney Park, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Rockford, IL, surrounded by her family. Born October 12, 1922, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Fogle) Spiker. She married Francis G. Timmerman on August 23, 1949, in Loves Park, IL. Employed by the Harlem School District for 10 years. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Dot loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and enjoyed long walks. Survivors include her son, Paul (Deborrah) Timmerman of Markesan; daughter, Lora Damrow of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Christopher Timmerman, and Thomas Frederick; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sweet, Damon (Nikkole Leisgang) Timmerman, Alexis (Chris) Trei, and Damian Fredrick; great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Carson, Grayson, Korbin, and Case; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Kimberly Timmerman; son-in-law, John Damrow; brother, Charles Spiker; and sister, Rose Ashey.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Inurnment in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Lena, IL. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
