Dorothy Faye Eberley

Dorothy Faye Eberley, 82, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Dorothy was born on Saturday, May 22, 1943, in Mississippi, Arkansas, the daughter of Guy Herren and Anna Braggs. She married Ronald Robert Eberley on February 18, 1977, and together they shared many years of love and family memories.

Dorothy was formerly employed at Rockford Products and later worked as a housekeeper at Wesley Willows before her retirement. She took great pride in caring for others throughout her life.

Dorothy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden and especially cherished her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed taking walks with her precious dog, Baby Girl, and her beloved niece, Tina. Dorothy will also be fondly remembered for her delicious homemade banana pudding pie, which brought comfort and happiness to so many family gatherings.

She is survived by her loving son, James Eberley; sisters, Dorotha Mae Seago and Mildred Leconte; brother, Clifford Herren; grandchildren, Katrina Chenoweth, Robert Eberley, and Ryan Eberley; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Herren and Anna Ogden; her husband, Ronald Eberley; sons, Ronnie, and Jimmy Eberley; and siblings, Helen Gummow, Jimmy Herren, Ronnie Herren, Tommy Herren, Linda Garner, and David Ogden.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, in Silver Spring Cemetery, located at the southeast corner of East Town Hall Road and North Hillcrest Road in Lancaster Township, Stephenson County, Illinois. Arrangements are being handled by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, Illinois. Flowers are welcome.
