Dora Nyen

May 25, 1937 — March 8, 2024

Dora Lee Nyen, 86, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 25, 1937, in Webster Springs, WV, the daughter of Vernon and Laura (McCourt) Addington. She married Raymond “Ray” A. Nyen on February 11, 1956. Member of Open Bible Church. Dora loved her family. She especially loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Dora enjoyed making biscuits and gravy once a month for the entire family. She loved antiquing, reading, traveling, knitting, crocheting, Blue Grass music, and attending festivals. Survivors include her husband, Ray; children, April (Tom) Giamalva, Kerry (Kathy) Nyen, Raelene (Fred) Hann, Laura Johnson, and Eric (Amanda) Nyen; grandchildren, Hailee (Evan), Dina (Mason), Kyle (Ashley), Kaylyn (Lance), Josh (Danielle), Jacob (Veronica), Janelle, Jordon (Amanda), Sarah (Danny), Emmie, Erica, and Elaina; great-grandchildren, Ailani, Ryan, Brody, Geneva, Ava, Abel, and Elijah; sister, Ellen; and canine companion, Raven. Predeceased by her parents, Vern and Laura; son-in-law, Jorri Johnson; brothers, Rodney and Roger; and sisters, Phyllis and Jean. Special thank you to Sanctuary Hospice, especially Ron, Tess, Dr. Disanti, and the nurses on the 4th floor at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Roscoe Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.
