Donna R. “Foxy Grma” Samp, 76, of Rockford passed away peacefully Thursday, August 2, 2018, surrounded by family. Born November 20, 1941, in Beloit, WI, the daughter of John R. and Elsie (Ogle) Lehman, Sr. She grew up as a farm girl in Ridgeway, IA. Married Donald L. “Don” Samp on January 24, 1976, in Geneva. Employed by The Mayflower for many years and retired from Carlson Elementary School. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sicilian Ladies Club and The Gotcha Girls Club. She loved shopping, gardening, spending time with family and friends, was a great cook and a classy lady. Avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her first husband, Donald Aldrich; children, Kenneth (Cristy) Aldrich, Russell (Gail) Aldrich, Todd (Robin Gagliano) Aldrich and Crystal (Nichole Ansel) Samp; daughter-in-law, Shirlee Aldrich; Don Samp’s sons, Chris (Goldie) Samp and Jay (Karen) Samp; grandchildren, Danielle (Gary) Gelander, Ashley (Bill) Watts, Kristen (William) Halfacre, Tyler Aldrich, Jacob (Amelia) Aldrich, Emmalee Aldrich, Javen Samp, Jonah Samp, Allegra Samp and Adin Samp; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Gelander, Amaya Gelander, Hannah Watts, Paige Watts, Mason Watts, Autumn Halfacre, Wyatt Halfacre, Kennedy Halfacre and Garrett Ansel; sisters, Neva Folk, Nancy (Denny) Miller and Linda Lehman; brother, William (Nancy) Lehman; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved pets, Miss Elie, Lulu, Bella and Cosmos. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Don Samp; son, Derek Jones Samp; brother, John R. Lehman, Jr.; and stepson, Greg Samp.
Service at noon Monday, August 6, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with vitiation from 10 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
