Donna J. Samp, 87, of Loves Park, IL, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022. Born September 10, 1934, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Vernon and Esther (Ramsey) Schuneman. Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1952. Married Donald L. Samp in 1955. Formerly employed by Eagle Foods and most recently by Nutrition Works. Member of Rockford Women’s Golf Association where she was treasurer for many years. Avid bowler and volleyball player. Donna loved attending her children’s sporting events. Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Talignani of Beloit, WI; sons, Chris (Goldie) Samp of Santa Monica, CA, and Jay (Karen) Samp of Loves Park; grandchildren, Melissa Ring of Burlington, IA, Javan (Melissa) Samp of DeForest, WI, Jonah (Molly Schorsch) Samp of Castle Rock, CO, Allegra Samp of Los Angeles, CA, and Aidan Samp of Red Hook, NY; great-grandchildren, Gage, Gunner, Gavin, and Gabriel; great-great-grandchildren, Aurora and Jemma; several nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Greg Samp; son-in-law, Al Talignani; and sister, Delores Cook. The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels, The Atrium and Promedica Hospice for their care.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
