Donald "Donnie" Zwiger

Donald “Donnie” Wayne Zwiger, 59, of Roscoe passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, in Machesney Park. Born March 19, 1961, in Oceanside, CA, the son of William “Bill” David and Gloria Jean “Jeanne” (Fletcher) Zwiger. Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as an aircraft mechanic. Employed by Ingersoll, ALL Equipment, Midwest Packaging and most recently PBC Linear. Donnie loved to fish, golf, work on cars and watch NASCAR. Diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He loved to create betting pools for sports and loved his Mentos. Donnie enjoyed crosswords, trivia, being around his family and friends. He would help anyone that needed help. Donnie will be remembered as a strong, kind, and caring person who loved everyone, and everyone loved him. Survivors include his children, Raymond Zwiger, Beverly (Eric Holden) Zwiger and Joshua (Jessica Bennehoff) Green; grand dog, Mr. T.; grandchildren, Riley Lewis, Justin “J” Lewis, Kaylee Green, Karsen Green, Kiara Holden and Aaliyah Holden; mother, Jeanne (Bruce, Sr.) Sumpter; stepmother, Mary Jo Zwiger; siblings, Terry (Susan) Zwiger, David (Carrie) Zwiger, Bobby (Ilsa Ward) Zwiger, Bruce (Joelle) Sumpter, Jr., Jackie Sumpter; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Brandon) Miller, April (Jason) Noe, Jeremy (Holly) Zwiger, Naomi (Preston) Crawford, Andy (Erica) Ward, Scotty Fann, Zack (Emily) Zwiger, Brittany Zwiger, Jason Hargraves, Christian Hargraves and Matilda Sumpter. Predeceased by his father; and nephew, Dusty Zwiger.

Walk through visitation from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Masks and social distancing required. Cremation rites accorded. Private services.
