Donald “Don” E. Rogers, 79, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Don was born on January 16, 1946, in Rockford, IL, to Clifford and Maude (Brown) Rogers. He graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1963. He married his high school sweetheart Kay Raleigh in Loves Park, IL, on September 12, 1964, and had 60 loving years together. Don was a lifelong member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. He was self-employed for 43 years and a former owner of the House of Bottles. Don loved spending time with his family, his German Shepherds and caring for his wooded property. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Kay; daughter, Vickie (Dan) Iversen; son, David (Tina) Rogers; grandchildren, Kelsey (Tim) VanHove, Alex (Eric) Richter, Sydney (Toby Cook) Iversen, Andrew (Taylor) Rogers, Chelsey (Nate) Asbury, and Ted (Brea) Logan; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Rylan, Lila, and Aiden VanHove, Keaton Rogers, and two expected in May; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Zana. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Vivian Greenlee; and brother, Eugene Rogers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Burial in Scottish Argyle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family will kindly accept donations for a memorial to be established in his name.
