Donald "Don" Bristol

Donald “Don” Lee Bristol, 67, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully Friday, February 11, 2022, in his home.  Born July 4, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Glenn and Shirley (Rainford) Bristol.  Don grew up in Fenton, Michigan.  Married Terri “Angel” Broomfield on October 18, 2019, and loved her fiercely.  Proud graduate of Michigan State University in 1976.  Employed by Chrysler for 20 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2008.  Don enjoyed golfing, basketball, and watching the Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Lions.  He was a lover of animals and owned many dogs throughout the years.  When he was not enjoying sports, Don could be found outside in his garden.  Don was proudly six years sober and positively impacted many lives around him with his hard work.  Don is survived by his wife, Angel; children, Kylie (Scott) Golden and Derek (Colleen) Bristol; stepson, Troy Broomfield; grandchildren, Maddux James, Wyatt Lee, and Paityn Marie Golden; brothers, Keith (Tina) Bristol and Greg Bristol; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; and the mother of his children, Cecelia Bristol (Jeffrey Leithauser).  Predeceased by his parents and aunt, Roberta Bristol.

Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Redeemer Church, 5501 Windsor Road, Loves Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Liver Foundation.  Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
